The co-founder and chief designer of the preeminent Hong Kong brand – Giormani and international brand – Kelvin Giormani, Kelvin Ng graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in International Business and Marketing. With the great opportunity to chance upon collaboration with a well-known German sofa brand – Weco Polstermobel, Kelvin was deeply inspired by the German design team for its process of realizing new designs and creating contemporary sofa designs from A to Z. Since the fine occurrence, he began to practice designing as well as developing his distinctive style gradually. His hard work paid off when he was named one of Hong Kong’s top 40 designers under 40-years-old by a leading interior magazine – Perspective. Following the feature, Kelvin won various awards such as the Prestigious Young Industrialist Award and Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards. He was even invited to exhibit his designer chair – Enego in Art Basel Hong Kong three years back.
HIS WORKS
Elegant yet playful, the Diamante Sofa is definitely an interesting statement piece to have in one’s space. Each facet is well-defined and outlined by genuine leather strips which are sewn and stitched along angular genuine leather pieces. One can create almost limitless combinations by playing around with the various leather selections, from contrasting leather colours, pattern-embossed and flat leather strips. Kelvin effectively proved that such personalization is not just found on conventional fashion leather goods, but also on contemporary genuine leather sofas.
The distinctive tall and see-through solid stainless steel legs allow one to notice Novara Sofa easily. Its simple and unique shape matches perfectly with the minimal design concept that Kelvin has designed for it. Apart from its elegant aesthetics, Novara is able to satisfy the comfort and functional aspects as well. The advanced head mechanism on each back cushion helps to provide great support to at the back and neck of every user.
Snello Sofa is a relatively slim model which matches perfectly with the exceptional V-shaped tall legs. The interesting legs are oriented at two different dimensions where it can be viewed from all angles while maintaining the “V shape”. The eye-catching weave patterns on the sofa sides provide the model with a signature element to stand out in any spaces.
A touch of neo-classic design is added into the Spaziosa Sofa by creating large diamond-shaped stitching on the sofa back to elevate its sophistication. Together with the thin metal legs, Spaziosa is definitely a great choice for one who appreciates modern classic atmosphere in his/her spaces.
