Singapore – It seems that furniture made of honest solid materials and built to last and age well seems to be out of sync in the age of social media and 10 second attention spans. Fortunately, for those who believe in high quality design and durability there is Sean Dix.
Exclusively presented by OM, the Dix and Dix Limited collections reflect the understated design sensibilities of Sean. The Dix collection is timeless and authentic while the Dix Limited collection is one that is inspired by vintage designs for both residential and commercial use.
The featured pieces at the launch on 3rd July at 16 Tai Seng are the New daybed and footstool, the Chom Chom collection and the Rod collection.
The New daybed and footstool is made with a solid hardwood frame that shows of the natural beauty of the wood used; the support for the cushions are made from laminated plywood and will literally take a lifetime of use and abuse.
The Chom Chom collection made up of pieces that Sean designed for the much-acclaimed eponymous Vietnamese restaurant in Hong Kong are solidly made for use in a very busy commercial environment.
The Rod collection of chairs and stools are deceptively heavy, the upholstered bentwood shells sitting on top spindly-looking stainless steel rods appear to be lightweight furniture pieces but like all of Sean’s design they are designed for durability.
Those who believe in the words of Benjamin Franklin who said “Honesty is the Best Policy” will find a kindred spirit in Sean Dix.
